Organized Youth Group Outings

SCSC plays hosts to 7 youth group events each year.  Dates are first reserved for member sponsored groups through the end of February.  On March 1st remaining dates are released to nonmember sponsored groups on a first come, first served basis.

Both Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops have enjoyed the use of the SCSC facilities.

On a typical youth event 10 SCSC volunteers with NRA Range Safety Officer, NRA Shotgun Instructor, and NRA Rifle Instructor credentials provide safety orientation/instruction and live fire exercises on both the Shotgun Trap Range as well as the Rifle Range.  Equipment is provided (participants provide their own eye and hearing protection).

Youth groups that have a SCSC member sponsor can camp and fish on the lake for the weekend.  Boy Scouts might work on Camping, Fishing, Shotgun Shooting, and Rifle Shooting merit badge.  The member sponsor must stay with the group for the entire weekend including overnight if camping.

With permission, the archery range is available to groups that bring their own equipment and instructors.
